Two brothers started the company, and it became part of the Daimler-Chrysler family in later years. Fairbanks was working on a logo, and he wanted to use strong animals or creatures from mythology to represent the truck. He presented three drawings of rams to Mr. Chrysler for review. Mr. Fairbank's reasoning for using the ram was because the it is the strongest animal on the mountain trail. He claimed that if any person or animal came in contact with a ram in the wild, you would want to dodge it to get out of its way. The strong logo and the reasoning behind it solidified the decision for Mr. Chrysler, and thus the iconic image of the Ram truck was born.
