The Dodge Ram pickup truck has come a long way since it made its debut in 1981. Until 1994, the Ram half-ton was designated as the 150, while the three-quarter ton version was called the 250. The original one-ton Ram pickup was called the 350. The engines in this first generation of Rams were updated in 1989. The second-generation Ram made its debut in 1994. The front end was distinguished by a beefed-up look that reminded one of a semi-truck. In 1994, Dodge also introduced a new engine option to the Ram lineup, a massive 8.0L V-10 that quickly captivated many an enthusiast. The third-generation Dodge Ram hit the streets in 2002. The major re-design featured an enlarged grille, updated suspension and improved frame. A new 5.7 Hemi engine added another hundred horsepower under the hood.
