Jeep Wrangler's Evolution The Jeep Wrangler also known as the YJ, TJ, and KJ has a lengthy history which started in World War II. The version of the Wrangler used in WWII received a remodeling in 1987. This original YJ was made in Ontario, Canada until 1992 when production was moved to Jeeps Ohio plant in Toledo. The Wrangler also received renovations in 1997 and in 2007. The constant for Jeep is that it’s always been produced by Chrysler. The Jeep Wrangler is highly identifiable, and has maintained a cult like following since its inception.
