The Dodge Dakota was offered with a Club Cab and regular model after special changes were made to the body. A 6.5-foot and 8-foot bed box became available with the regular cab version of the 1998 Dakota. In 1998, the overall performance of this exceptional medium-sized pickup truck was increased with the help of an R/T version of the Dakota. This version has a 250-horsepower 5.9-liter Magnum V-8 power plant. A powerful 5.2-liter Magnum V-8 engine is also available for the 1998 Dodge Dakota pickup truck. Before the Chevrolet Colorado SS hit the scene in 2009, the Dakota was the only mid-sized pickup truck with a V-8 engine in the United States.
